A Message from the President of CREATE: Dr. Doug Wren
Thank you for visiting our website. The Consortium for Research on Educational Assessment and Teaching Effectiveness (CREATE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of education in PK-12 and postsecondary settings. The CREATE Board of Directors includes educators and researchers from ten universities in three countries, four large American school districts, and the Southern Regional Education Board. Our membership extends across the US and internationally.
The Annual CREATE Conference provides graduate students, teachers, professors, researchers, evaluators, administrators, and other professionals from public and private agencies the opportunity to present their research and best practices in a first-class venue. Our conference is relatively small (e.g. 138 registrants in 2017) and low cost. Attendees can discuss important issues with peers, expert keynoters, and the Millman Award winner in formal and informal settings. Since joining CREATE four years ago, I’ve met and chatted with Susan Brookhart, Tom Guskey, Joan Herman, Jim McMillan, and Jim Pellegrino—to name a few.On behalf of the CREATE Board of Directors, I hope you’ll consider attending the 27th Annual CREATE Conference at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA on October 11-12, 2018. Your conference registration also includes a one-year membership to an international organization that focuses on educational excellence, innovation, and linking research with practice.
Thank you for your support of CREATE!
Doug Wren, 2017-2018 President
